Job Description
Southern Highlands Private Hospital is currently establishing an in-house pharmacy dispensary to service the needs of hospital patients.
A unique opportunity exists for a qualified pharmacist to lead the hospital pharmacy team and to contribute to the delivery of high quality & effective specialist clinical pharmacy practices. The position contributes to overall running of the dispensary and fostering collaborative working relationships with doctors and nursing staff within the facility.
As manager of the onsite pharmacy department, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o The provision of comprehensive clinical services and the supply of dispensed medications to patients
o Lead the dispensary team to ensure that the department delivers the highest standard of pharmacy services
o Clinical dose checking of oncology products provided to the day chemotherapy unit
o Clinical chart reviews and patient counselling at a ward level
o Provision of training and information to nursing and hospital staff
o Budget Management
The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:
· Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent with a Current Registration
· Hospital pharmacy experience preferred but not essential for the right candidate
· Minimum of 12 months working experience as a Registered Pharmacist
· Demonstrated computer literacy including experience using Merlin dispensing software
· Proven leadership abilities
